Wiley sentenced to life for killing partner in Azalea District home

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Christopher Wiley, convicted of murder after the death of his partner last summer, has now been sentenced.

Wiley has now been sentenced to life in prison for the murder.

Late Thursday, jurors convicted Christopher Wiley of murder in the death of 52-year-old Rodney Walker.
Walker was fatally shot at their home in the Azalea District in July 2013.

Defense attorneys claimed that Walker had abused Wiley over the past several years. Wiley claimed that the shooting happened after he felt threatened by Walker.

Friday, Walker's niece got to face her uncle's killer and tell him how his murder has affected her family.

"You made the wrong choice," said Stacy Allen. "Because what you did to Rodney, you should have done to yourself. That's how I feel about it. That's how everybody feels about it."
