Jones County declared a federal disaster area

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

This is a news release from FEMA and Jones County Emergency Management

Late this afternoon the Jones County Emergency Management Agency Executive Director Marda Tullos received

confirmation that Jones County has been declared a Federal disaster area, eligible for (IA) individual assistance

and (PA) Public Assistance under Mississippi Severe Storms, Tornadoes, And Flooding (DR-4175)http://www.fema.gov/disaster/4175

 

We urge citizens affected by the recent storms that ravaged Jones County to register with FEMA now.

 

Additional information, including the location of a disaster recovery center will be announced soon.

 

To register with FEMA for assistance use one of the methods below.

    University of Southern Mississippi sophomore guard Shonte Hailes posted her first double-double of the season Saturday afternoon with a game-high 20 points and a career-best 13 rebounds and junior swingman Megan Brown added 10 points and six rebounds in a 61-53 win over Middle Tennessee State University.
