Clarence Weatherspoon excited about Sadler

Southern Miss basketball legend Clarence Weatherspoon was on hand for the introduction of new head coach Doc Sadler and said he was happy to be back on campus.

"Anytime they ask me to come down and be a part of an event like today, it gives me an opportunity to come back and show my support and I think today we hired a great basketball coach."

Weatherspoon was involved in the search process and looked forward to what he'll see on the court.

"He's talking about exciting basketball and as a fan, that's what you want to see and I'll do my best to get to as many [games] as I can."

Weatherspoon played for the Golden Eagles from 1989-92.

He went on to play in the NBA for 6 different teams from 1992-2005.
