(RNN) - Severe weather hit parts of the Midwest, South and East Coast this week, killing more than 30 people and causing major damage across several states.

Parts of Pensacola, FL, saw up to almost two feet of rain, causing major flooding.

LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling has been banned for life from the NBA following racist comments he reportedly made on an audio recording recently made public. The NBA commissioner said Sterling will also be fined $2.5 million.

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has announced he is taking a break from his re-election campaign to seek help for alcohol abuse. The embattled mayor has also been accused of smoking crack.
