SEMINARY, MS (WDAM) - Three people were arrested in Seminary Sunday night on several charges including possession of a controlled substance, shoplifting, and child endangerment.
Authorities say they received several calls about a disturbance at the Dollar General and Keith's Super Store on Highway 49. Upon arrival they took three suspects into custody. At that time they learned two-children, ages four and six, had been left to fend for themselves at the Ward's Restaurant across the street. During the arrest a large amount of cocaine was seized.
Arrested were Sandra Lynn Sumlin, 33, from Baton Rouge,La., Dustin Broome, 34 and David Brandon Ferrell, 26, both from Richland, Ms. All three are charged with shoplifting and possession of a controlled substance.Sumlin is also facing a DUI charge and Broome is facing child endangerment charges.
Sumlin and Ferrell were released on bond. Broome remains in the Covington County Jail.
The two-children were released to the custody of their mother.
