Lady Crusaders softball confident heading into road test

The William Carey softball team is enjoying great success this season as the 6th ranked squad in the nation, boasting a 38-6 record.

The Lady Crusaders lead the Western Division of the Southern States Athletic Conference and face a tough road test tomorrow against 10th ranked Spring Hill.

"I think the girls have worked on the things that we need to change going into it. We just gotta go out there and continue to play our game," head coach Wendy Hogue said.

The team is going through a bit of rough patch losing two of their last four games, but they believe they can right the ship

"I think we're very confident since we've already played them twice this year and we know what it takes to hit their pitcher," said catcher Janessa Dedeaux.

"We have all the tools we need to beat them, so we've just got to show up and play."

Pitcher Brittany Lang, echoed her teammate's thoughts.

"I feel like we cannot be beat when we're on our 'A' game," Lang said.

"I feel we have confidence going into the game because we've seen her already and we know that we can beat the team. We split with them and I feel like we can go in there tomorrow and sweep."

First pitch of game one is set for 2 p.m.
