CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Deputies have returned nearly all of the property stolen from a lumber business and a contractor, authorities said Tuesday.

More than $10,000 worth of items had been taken from 84 Lumber Company and Blackwell Construction, Jamie Dexter with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said in an e-mail.

Carl Martin, 37, and Stephen Williford, 38, remain in jail on burglary and theft charges following their arrests Friday morning.

A deputy stopped the pair near Liberty Park after believing they may be driving under the influence, Dexter said.

The deputy spotted several items from a construction site in the car, and a contractor doing work in the Liberty Park subdivision confirmed the items were stolen.

Authorities believe Martin and Williford made several trips to carry stolen items back to a house. On Monday, investigators followed a tip and found even more property at the home, Dexter said.
