Attorney Dal Williamson to run for Jones County Circuit Judge

Posted: Updated:
JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

On Wednesday, attorney Dal Williamson announced his candidacy for the office of the Circuit Court Judge of Jones County.

Throughout his career of 34 years as an attorney, Williamson said he has practiced law with integrity and a deeply held belief in the great importance of the judicial system in a civil society.

If elected, Williamson said those convicted of selling and distributing illegal drugs, those who steal from others to support an addiction to drugs, and those that commit violent crimes will not enjoy his tenure as circuit court judge.

"I will see that justice in Jones County is administered fairly and impartially," said Williamson.

Williamson stood at the front steps of the law office of Williamson & Thompson and made it clear to everyone that any rumors of an investigation currently undergoing in the programs of the circuit court has nothing to do with his decision to run for circuit court judge. He said its been a dream of his for a long time to serve his home county as circuit judge.
