TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The Pima County Sheriff's Department says that a missing teenager may actually be a runaway.

According to a news release, Esperanza Casillas, 14, was seen Tuesday morning getting a substantial amount of hair cut off at a hair salon near Cardinal Avenue and Valencia Road.

In a surveillance video, someone that authorities say is Casillas is seen wearing a flannel type shirt over the clothes she was last seen in.

On Tuesday, authorities said she was last seen leaving her home to walk to school.

Casillas attends Pistor Middle School, which is in the area of West Drexel Road and South Cardinal Avenue. When her family went to pick her up after track practice, they were told she hadn't been to school that day.

Casillas is described as a Hispanic female who is 5' 3" in height and around 128 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair. She was wearing a gray uniform polo shirt, brown pants, black shoes, and a white backpack when she left for school.

Anyone with information regarding her location is urged to call 88-CRIME or 911.
