WDAM Viewpoint- Prom and graduation safety

It is that time of year again, a time for fun and excitement surrounding school proms and graduations. And while this is always a very festive time, it can also be a tragic one. Many of our teens will get on the road with more distractions than usual as they pick up dates and friends for the big night. As parents, we must help them put safety first and then the fun. We can all have a safer prom and graduation season with some simple safety first rules – no drinking, no distracted driving, planned prom and graduation activities and most importantly thoughtful decision making. It sounds elementary, however each year we hear the stories of deadly accidents surrounding these events. So remind your family to stay safe.

This is today's Viewpoint.
