Red Cross assists Covington County residents with tornado recovery

Covington County residents affected by the recent EF-2 tornado had a chance to visit the American Red Cross Emergency Aid Station at the Hot Coffee Community Center Friday.

Mississippi Emergency Management Agency released a new total of 70 structutres affected by the storm, with 42 receiving minor damage, and 28 heavily damaged or destoryed, along with eight minor injuries in the county.

Volunteers were on hand to help with gathering information and referrals, along with providing casework services and emotional support.
