Saenger Theater and Stage Struck Performance Studio present Seussical Junior

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Stage Struck Performance Studio and the Saenger Theater prepared to present Seussical Junior Wednesday night at their dress rehearsal.

Stage Struck Performance Studio is an after school program for children interested in theater and performing. According to Brenda Parker, Director of Stage Struck and Seussical Jr., the goal of the program is to teach children public speaking, acting, music, and give children on stage experience.

The cast is comprised of more than 80 elementary and middle school aged performers from Hattiesburg, Petal, Oak Grove, Purvis, Sumrall and surrounding areas and perform three shows with three different casts.

Seussical Jr. includes all of Dr. Seuss's favorite children book characters including The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Whovians, and many more.

Performances are Friday, April 11 at 7:30 and Saturday, April 12 at 2:00 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at The Saenger Theater or online at http://www.hattiesburgsaenger.com/.

    A man jumping in to help a Lumberton Police Officer ended up with an injury of his own Monday. Lumberton Police Chief Carlus Page said an officer was dispatched in reference to a domestic incident just before 10 a.m. on Southern Street when the suspect, identified as Jeameal Taylor, starting running.
