TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - The Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau is looking for memorabilia about the history of Lee County's black community.
WTVA-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1kojgUQ ) the bureau is seeking photos, newspaper clippings and other documents to be used in the Civil Rights and African-American Heritage Trail.
Residents who have materials can have them scanned Thursday and Friday. The documents will be used in publications promoting the trail. Bureau officials say contributors will be asked to provide permission for the bureau to use the scanned images.
Scanning will be done at St. Paul United Methodist Christian Life Center in Tupelo. Hours are 1-4 p.m. on Thursday and 9 a.m.-noon on Friday.
