Flooded property near Laurel results in dog rescue effort

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

A flooded property on Hwy 84 East near Laurel has now resulted in a dog rescue effort.

The property flooded after severe weather caused creek beds to overflow. Approximately five to six cars were flooded on the property, but the main concern is now a dog trapped in a shed.

The dog is safe on a ledge, but Emergency Management has sent a boat to the property to help rescue the animal.

Fire fighters were able to put on wading boots and waded through the water to the animal.

The dog has now been pulled to safety.
