Movie Madness: Caddyshack reaches top of the leaderboard

(RNN) – The field was built, but the people did not come.

The fans have spoken, and with 57 percent of the vote Caddyshack avoided the bunkers of the Movie Madness bracket and sank the winning putt over Field of Dreams.

Caddyshack was a No. 2 seed in the tournament and took down Bloodsport, Slap Shot, Karate Kid, Jerry Maguire and top-seeded Rocky before taking the crown.

It would not have been smart to wager $80,000 on that. Maybe now Judge Elihu Smails can afford another boat.

The normally reserved crowd has gone wild for this Cinderella who's out of nowhere. It looks like a mirac-IT'S IN THE HOLE.

Champion

Caddyshack, 1980

Stars: Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight, Bill Murray

Synopsis: A kooky playboy with a Zen outlook (Chase), a crotchety judge (Knight), a "new money" loudmouth (Dangerfield) and an assistant groundskeeper with a gopher vendetta (Murray) are among the oddballs gracing the fairways of Bushwood Country Club. Through all the hilarity, caddy Danny Noonan (Michael O'Keefe) tries to figure out how he will make his way to college.
