Mayor says she's forming a new partnership

CEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) - The Board of Aldermen got more than routine news this week from Mayor Connie Moran.

During the board's meeting on Tuesday an alderman asked for an explanation for the ring on Moran's left hand. She held up her left hand, but didn't offer an explanation.

Moran, who is in her third term as mayor, told The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/Porqyw) on Wednesday that she is engaged to a Mobile, Ala., man. Moran says she and Jack Rosen have been dating for about a year.

The mayor has a daughter from a previous marriage.
