Biscuits game to air on WSFA 12 Saturday

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Montgomery Biscuits baseball game against the Birmingham Barons will be televised on WSFA on Saturday from 7-10 p.m.

Join us starting at 6:30 p.m. for our first Batter Up Biscuits special of the season. During the special, the Biscuits will reveal the name of their new pig mascot.

The Biscuits held a contest for fans to pick the name of the mascot. The winner will be announced Saturday.

Saturday's game will preempt Dateline Saturday Night Mystery and Saturday Night Live. Dateline Saturday Night Mystery will broadcast at 2:02 a.m. on Sunday. The News at Nine on WSFA 12.2 Bounce TV will also not be aired on Saturday, and an episode of Absolutely Alabama will be airing in its place.

The Montgomery Biscuits have also announced there will be a new on-field entertainment leader for the 2014 season. Frank "Ziggy" Jirik, a native of Wasilla, Alaska, will lead the Biscuit Bunch entertainment team this season. Jirik is currently a local radio personality on KOOL 95.5 FM and has experience in comedy, theatre, television and radio.

"I am really excited to be a part of this professional baseball team, and a part of the Montgomery Biscuits experience," Ziggy said. "This is going to be an outstanding and entertaining year for baseball, and I look forward to meeting all of the fans."
