MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

A juvenile has been charged in connection to a hay bale fire in Murfreesboro.

The fire started Tuesday afternoon on a farm on Lebanon Pike across from the VA golf course, causing 75 to 100 hay bales to catch fire.

Firefighters battled the blaze for hours on Tuesday and had to be called back out to the scene on Wednesday morning.

The bales are still smoldering and are producing lots of smoke.

Crews are working to put foam on the area to smother the fire.

The suspect has turned himself in. A detention hearing has not been set at this time.
