Auburn Police investigating reported on-campus sexual assault

AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -

The Auburn University Department of Public Safety and Security has been notified of a reported sexual assault.

The department was notified on Tuesday afternoon, by a third party on campus, that a sexual assault was reported to her. The assault is reported to have occurred in a university residence hall sometime between Saturday night and early Sunday morning. The victim stated that prior to the assault, she consumed a non-alcoholic beverage at a party that was located on-campus, and does not remember events that occurred afterwards.

The Auburn University Department of Public Safety and Security is working closely with Auburn Police and the Division of Student Affairs to determine additional actions that can be taken to reduce the chance of similar incidents.  

Anyone with information pertaining to the investigation is asked to contact the Auburn Police Department at 334-501-3100.
