JCJC newspaper takes home top honors in contest

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - The JCJC student newspaper, the Radionian, won 27 awards at the Better Newspaper Contest, which was held Thursday in Jackson.

Advisor Kelly Atwood presented the awards to the students on Monday at the C.L. Neill Student Center. The sudents were recognized with plaques and certificates for their achievements.

Out of 16 categories, the Radionian took home 11 first place awards, as well as the General Excellence award in the community college division at the 16th Annual O.C. McDavid/Mississippi Press Association Education Foundation's Better Newspaper Contest.

This is the seventh year in a row that the Radionian has taken home top honors at the competition.
