Pike Road host 3rd annual Art Market event

PIKE ROAD, AL (WSFA) -

The third annual Pike Road Art Market was held On Saturday, where artist were able to display their creations.

The event allows the community to interact with its artist, while also serving as a fundraiser for the Pike Road Arts Council.

Local artist say it is a great way to receive feedback on their work.

"It's nice to be able to talk to older people who have been doing this for longer than I have and getting their input, that way I can put it into my work," said artist Candace Welch.

Event organizers say that artist from all over the state attended the market.

    As Midtown development in Hattiesburg is well underway, revenue has been down for a neighboring business due to the construction.  Bop's Frozen Custard has experienced a loss in revenue since construction for The District at Midtown began outside their front door, but on Friday a surprise sign was posted to help out the business.
