Pennsylvania suspect arrested in Lucedale

LUCEDALE, MS (WLOX) -

A man wanted in Pennsylvania was arrested Friday morning in Lucedale. Albert Troy Williams Jr. is being extradited to the Keystone State to face a charge of drug delivery resulting in death.

Investigator Robert Riendeau said Lucedale police were alerted by Greene County Sheriff Stanley Malone early Friday morning that the wanted man could be in their city. Riendeau said a check with the National Crime Information Center confirmed that a warrant from Manheim Township in Lancaster, PA was issued on Williams with orders for full extradition.

Investigators from the Lucedale Police Department and the Greene County Sheriff's Department went to an address in Evons Trailer Park that was believed to be Williams' temporary residence. Riendeau said Williams could not be found at that location, but was spotted in the parking lot of Wayne Lee's Grocery when officers where leaving the area.

Riendeau said Williams was taken into custody without incident.

"It was about 15 minutes after we found out and we had him in custody," said Riendeau.

Williams is currently being extradited to Manheim, PA where he will face prosecution.

    Alderman in the city of Lumberton voted unanimously to not reappoint Police Chief Elsie Cowart. According to Alderman Jonathan Griffith, the alderman voted 5-0 to override the mayor’s previous veto to keep Cowart during a Tuesday night special called meeting.
