Bond set for Columbia doctor charged with attempted rape

COLUMBIA, MS (WDAM) - A bond of $50,000 has been set for a Columbia doctor charged with the attempted rape of an employee.

Dr. Martin Ugwu-Dike was arrested Thursday afternoon by Columbia police following an alleged incident with an employee at his office, Quality Care, located at 1212 Broad Street.

Ugwu-Dike made his initial appearance before judge Gwen Broom Friday morning at Marion County Justice Court.

Ugwu-Dike has hired attorney Jimmy Dukes for his defense.
