Laurel Police apprehend car chase suspect

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - This is a news release from the Laurel Police Department

On Tuesday at approximately 4:30 P.M., Officers of the Laurel Police Department responded to a disturbance call in the 900 block of South 19th Ave.

During the incident, Officers were attempting to arrest Shelia Booth McCurdy (Black/Female, 45 years of age, when she left the scene in a vehicle.

Officers gave chase and apprehended McCurdy on Yates near 5th Ave.  McCurdy faces one count of Felony Fleeing a Law Enforcement Officer and several misdemeanor charges.  McCurdy had her initial appearance in Laurel Municipal court today where her bond was set at $10,000. Sgt. Earl Reed is the lead investigator in this case.
