CAMP SHELBY, MS (WDAM) - Members of the 177th Armored Brigade and their families received free health screenings and other services at Camp Shelby Friday during a 4th annual health fair.
Nearly 30 vendors from the Hattiesburg area were on hand to provide various health and wellness services and information. Participants included Forrest General Hospital, the VA Women's Clinic and the American Red Cross.
"We don't have a lot of agencies on post, so our soldiers have to use the resources in the Hattiesburg community and this is a great way to display what is offered in the Hattiesburg community for our soldiers and family members," said Sergeant First Class L'Quitha Brock, wellness NCO for the 177th Armored Brigade.
"I've been to the last three wellness fairs, and I think it's a great opportunity for soldiers to go ahead and mingle with the community and kind of make these connections," said Staff Sergeant Danail Knox, a member of the 177th Armored Brigade.
The 177th's mission is to train other Army units for overseas deployments. It includes several hundred members
