Man gets prison time for marijuana grow house

BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - A Biloxi man has been sentenced to prison for cultivating a large amount of marijuana at a grow house in D'Iberville.

The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1g3L0ud ) Circuit Judge John Gargiulo sentenced 25-year-old Tuan Anh Dang to 30 years in prison Tuesday and suspended 16 years, leaving 14 to serve. The judge also ordered five years of probation.

The Coastal Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested Dang on April 1 after a raid at a home. Agents said they seized 286 marijuana plants and 12 pounds of processed marijuana, bagged and ready for sale. The pot had an estimated street value of several hundred thousand dollars.

He pleaded guilty to manufacture of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute.
