JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The day got of to a wild start at one downtown Jackson office building.

An employee spotted a coyote in the Woolfolk Building parking garage when they got to work  about 6:00am Monday morning.

Capitol Police cornered it on the 4th floor and closed the area off to employees.

Capitol Police, The Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, and Jackson Animal Control all assisted in capturing the animal.

Wildlife officers used a catch pole. The coyote was not aggressive and allowed officers to walk up to it and put the rope around its neck (see video).

It was put into a cage on the back of the Animal Control truck and was taken to a safe area in the country and released.
