BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The weekend's wet weather wreaked a little havoc in some parts of Alabama, but it was a welcome sight closer to home.

The dry conditions experienced by central Alabama have caused several brush fires. A fire on Friday in northwest Jefferson County was sparked by someone trying to burn debris.

At one point during the weekend, there were over 20 wildfires statewide. Thanks to the rain, that number is down to just two.
