ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

For the first time since 1998, the Albany State Lady Rams are headed to the NCAA Tournament.

It was a early morning for the Lady Rams, as their bus pulled up around 6:00 a.m. this morning.

The fifth-seeded Lady Rams are headed to Fort Lauderdale, where they'll take on fourth-seeded Delta State Friday in the first round of the South Regionals.

"At this particular time, I don't think there's any bad teams left. We're going to go out there and do our best," says head coach Robert Skinner. "We know Delta State's going to be well prepared and ready to play. It's going to be a battle and we expect that. We'll go out there and do what we're capable of doing."

Skinner knows it's an experience and a fun moment for his team. But he doesn't want to be just happy to be here.

He and the Lady Rams say this is more of a business trip.

"We're approaching it in that manner," says Skinner. "We want to go and take care of business, and that's how we've been focusing on it since we were thrilled and enterprised with this opportunity."

"No one expects us to win, so it'll be wonderful," says junior forward Kedeemya Cooper on what it would mean to win Friday. "To bring it all back, it would be awesome."

ASU tips off against Delta State Friday night at 7:30 p.m. on the campus of Nova Southeastern University.
