HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Today's Midday Guest was Donna Davis with the Hattiesburg Library.

Davis promoted an author visiting the Hattiesburg Library.

Jennifer Farr Davis,  author of Called Again and National Geographic Adventurer of the year for 2011,  will talk about setting an endurance record while hiking the Appalachian Trail at a pace of 47 miles a day for 46 days.  She will sign books and speak on Thursday, March 20th, beginning at 5:30.

    A suspect in a possible home invasion was shot Sunday night in the Hub City.  The shooting happened just after 9:30 p.m. at a home near the intersection of Orange and Xavier Street in Hattiesburg.  "We are investigating a possible home invasion where it appears the suspect was shot by a homeowner at the residence," said Hattiesburg Police Capt.     On a wet Saturday night in September 2016, Xavier Thigpen feasted. A season-high four tackles-for-loss against Troy, the most by a Golden Eagle since Cleveland Brown Jamie Collins recorded the same in 2012. Thigpen has continued his tenacious play through three games of 2017: Nine tackles, one sack and a fumble recovery to the end zone so far. This season will be the last ride for "PawPaw" Thigpen.
