WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – No charges will be filed against the people responsible for hanging a dog by a harness at Olga's Dog Spa.

A photograph began circulating around social media last week of a dog hanging by a harness.

The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office conducted a full investigation into the incident and decided no criminal charges will be filed. All parties involved in the incident were interviewed by detectives to come to this conclusion.

Since the picture was taken years ago, the statute of limitations has been exceeded on any potential charges.

Plus, the District Attorney's office says they did not have enough evidence to prove the dog was injured, maimed, tormented or killed from the picture.

The dog in the picture is named Vinnie. His owners have reported that he is doing well and living the high life.

According to the DA's office, the dog still goes to Olga's spa.
