HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Educators, clinicians and students from across Mississippi were in Hattiesburg this week for a two-day meeting to network and discuss the newest scientific research in various fields.
It was all part of the 78th annual meeting of the Mississippi Academy of Sciences.
The event featured student presentations and lectures on subjects ranging from ethics in biomedical research to advances in the study of neuroscience.
"We have a number of diverse divisions within the academy, but with the same goal, to spread knowledge and science education in the state, also to set up research collaborations among the major state institutions that are located here," said Dr. Stanley Smith, asst. professor at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and president of the Mississippi Academy of Sciences.
The event concluded Friday afternoon.
