Area realtors donate pet supplies to Hub City Humane Society

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

At their quarterly meeting at Southern Oaks, the Hattiesburg Area Board of Realtors collected pet supplies to give to the Hub City Humane Society.

Items collected included dog and cat food, treats, toys, cleaning supplies, and money. For years the realtors have been making charitable donations to worthy organizations in and around Hattiesburg.

Shelter manager Virginia Cheatham says donations like this really help in keeping the shelter running.

"We're a new shelter in Hattiesburg, we just celebrated our first year anniversary on Tuesday," said Cheatham. "We couldn't do it without the support of the community and organizations such as this one on food donations and all of their support."

Several hundred dollars of pet supplies and money were given to the shelter.
