HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - USM students and families alike are preparing for next week's spring break. Whether they're planning a trip home to visit family, a vacation to the coast, or a week catching up on school work, students are ready for a change of pace.
"I'm going to the Gulf Coast to spend time with my family," said Jalia McGriggs, a student at USM.
"I'm probably going to Panama City to have a good time, meet some new people," said Antoine Armstrong, another USM student. "Last year we met a lot of people from different places so hopefully we can do the same thing again."
Like the busy students, Magnolia Travel Agency has been working overtime as well. Travel agents have been booking cruises and hotel rooms for college students as well as local families. Unsurprisingly, the most popular destinations include beaches and anywhere that folks can soak up the sun after a long winter.
"The best travel, as far as availability and rates, is if you do it several months ahead of time," explained Pat Alonzo of Magnolia Travel Agency. Remember that for next year!
