HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Educators from around southeast Mississippi gathered Tuesday at the Thad Cochran Center at the University of Southern Mississippi for the fourth annual Educators Connect Conference.
The conference was attended by 180 educators representing universities, colleges, k-12 professionals, and graduate and undergraduate students. The day long conference enables educators to come together to communicate, collaborate, and share teaching strategies with their contemporaries. Break-out sessions focused on topics like online courses, active learning environments, and teacher problem solving skills.
"All these different participants we have here today are teachers in the classroom and they have been sharing ideas of what works for their students and what doesn't work so well," said Amber Casio, USM Online Marketing and Recruiting Specialist. "Then we can all use those positive concepts that they are reinforcing what they are trying to teach in the classroom."
The conference is sponsored by the Learning Enhancement Center at USM.
