RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

The threat of a major snow storm drove many local people to make a dash for the stores. Some locations brought in extra staff.

"Yes," said Kroger grocery manager Shane Miller. "We have been running all day."

Our cameras were rolling as workers raced against the clock trying to keep shelves stocked.

"The fastest we put it on," said Miller. "The quicker they are taking it out."

The bread aisle was hit especially hard.

"It has been crazy," said Miller.  "I'm happy. I'm glad to see it. It gives us the business. Folks have been coming here buying bread, milk, eggs."

The phrase is reminiscent of a statement made by our favorite Kroger ambassador, Miss Vivian.

"Whenever they say snow," said Vivian Cooper. "Watch out eggs. Watch out milk. Watch out everything."

As shoppers make a dash for the stores, Miss Vivian is keeping an eye toward the skies. She is literally craving more snow.

"Now I'm out," said Miss Vivian who frequently saves and eats snow each winter. "So it better snow!"
