One dead, one injured after crash involving ODOT truck on US 20

FREMONT, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Fremont post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says one person is dead and another was taken to the hospital Sunday night after an accident involving an ODOT truck and another vehicle.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 22-year-old Daniel Johnson was driving eastbound on Route 6, just west of State Route 19 in Sandusky County, when he hit a snowplow driven by 54-year-old Donald Schlea.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.  Schlea was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The accident happened on US 20 near State Route 19 near Fremont around 8:55 pm.  The crash is still under investigation.
