Brandon resident arrested for possession of child pornography

JACKSON, MS (WDAM) -

Jackson, MS—A Brandon resident has been arrested for possession of child pornography, announced Attorney General Jim Hood today.

Justin Lee Goldsmith, 19, of Brandon, was arrested Wednesday by investigators with the Attorney General's Cyber Crime Unit.  He is charged with one count of child exploitation/possession of child pornography.

The Attorney General's Office is unable to release any details of the alleged crime at this time.

Goldsmith was booked into the Rankin County Detention Center.  If convicted, he faces up to 40 years behind bars.  As with all cases, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

    In an effort to get tornado victims back into their homes, volunteers with the Mennonite Disaster Service have helped build 12 houses. And today, Economy Supply honored them with a luncheon for their commitment to the community.  Roses Bar-B-Que and Catering was provided to the volunteers, which included ribs, chicken, potato salad, baked beans and even banana pudding for those craving something sweet.
