Man arrested in Lamar County following two county crime spree

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A 43-year-old Jones County man was arrested Wednesday following a two county crime spree.

Gregory Hancock was found hiding in a shed behind a home in Lamar County. He was found with two guns that were stolen from homes.

Lamar County Deputies sent in a K-9 unit to hold the suspect in the shed incase he was armed.

Hancock was then taken to a Hattiesburg hospital with minor injuries from the canine bites.

Earlier Wednesday officials said Hancock wrecked a motorcycle on highway 589 after it had been reported stolen in Jones County.

Hancock faces numerous charges in both counties including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
