William Carey Crusaders prepare for home finale

The William Carey men's basketball team has been on fire to finish the season. With two games remaining, the Crusaders have won 16 in a row on the way to a 22-2 overall record. Thursday night is "senior night", the final home game of the season against Mobile, and head coach Steve Knight says he wants to send his seniors out in style. "This group that came in last year, they've never lost a home game. So they want to protect home court first of all."

While the third ranked Crusaders look to close out the regular season with a couple of wins, they have also got their eyes on an even bigger prize. "They've still got on their mind a conference championship by winning the tournament and going and getting ourselves a national title," Knight said. "I think they really believe that now that we've made it to number three in the country that we are an elite team, a top five caliber team in the country, and can compete and win at nationals."

William Carey faces Mobile Thursday night at 7:30 in Hattiesburg, before ending the regular season Saturday afternoon at Spring Hill.
