Bevin campaigns in Oldham County

CRESTWOOD, KY (WAVE) - The man who wants to be the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate campaigned in Oldham County today.

Before appearing at the Oldham County GOP meeting Tuesday night, Matt Bevin spoke to a crowd at Gustavo's Mexican Grill in Crestwood. Bevin said the appearance by President Bill Clinton at a fundraiser for Alison Lundergan Grimes is nothing more than a distraction.

"Bill Clinton is not running for U. S. Senate in Kentucky, Alison Grimes is," said Bevin, "and at the end of the day she's going to have to stand on her own two feet, her own knowledge and her own experience and I don't see her doing too well on that front frankly, but it's her race to run."

Bevin faces McConnell on the primary ballot this May.
