RADCLIFF, KY (WAVE) - The Radcliff Police Department is seeking a person of interest in the reported rape of a 17-year-old girl.

A police spokesman said the crime is believed to have happened on February 7.

"Right now we have one victim and we have a person of interest that we'd like to talk to find out what actually occurred according to that person that night," said Officer Bryce Shumate of the Radcliff Police.

Investigators have released a composite sketch of the suspect, who is described as an African-American man in his 20s with a thin build, goatee, shoulder-length dreadlocks and a tattoo - possibly of a name - on top of his right hand.

He was wearing a black jacket, sagging blue jeans, a gray knit cap, rubber-looking bracelets on his right wrist, a rubber band on his left wrist, a wedding band on his left hand, and black and white Giffey tennis shoes. He was driving a dark color SUV with tinted windows.

The victim told police she saw a small semi-automatic pistol and two booster seats in the SUV.

Police are withholding some details of this case like where the crime occurred. They say it did not happen in a car.

"She was not abducted, she was not taken against her will from preliminary investigations," said Shumate.

Anyone with information about this case should call the Radcliff Police Department's anonymous tip line at 270-351-TIPS (8477) or the Radcliff Police Detective Section at 270-351-5147.
