LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A woman admitted to police that she set fire to a couch inside her Louisville condominium because it belonged to her former boyfriend, and she wanted it out of her house.

According to Louisville Metro police, Cari Best, 27, used matches and a lighter to start the fire just before 7:00 Monday night at 10202 Deer Vista Drive.

Police said Best's actions put her life and the lives of other tenants, firefighters and the general public at risk of death or serious physical injury. No one was injured in the fire.

Best's arrest report says it has been requested that she not be allowed back on the property when she is released from jail.

Best is charged with first-degree arson.
