Westhampton cleaners celebrates employee's 50 years on the job

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

James Graham has worked at Westhampton Cleaners for 50 years, although originally he didn't plan to stay long. "I came here just to work for a while, to pay for a small TV that I had gotten" says Graham.

The owner of Cleaners had a different idea. He had plan for the business, and it included Graham.

Graham, affectionately know as "Beans," does a little bit of everything at the cleaners, from pressing to spot treating.

His current boss, who wasn't even born when Graham started working for his father, says this kind of dedication is priceless. "It makes it easy on me to have a guy like that here. It's just great," says Mike Boykin.

He says Graham is not just an employee but family.

This milestone has sparked many trips down memory lane this week. The family keeps a photo album of employees over the years. Graham is a huge part of those memories.

After 50 years, Graham says he has no plans to slow down.

He's got a little advice for others about the work place. "Stick with it, and an opportunity might open up and you just keep going for it." Graham says.
