Warrant executed for drug raid in Hattiesburg

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

This is a news release from Metro Narcotics

Metro Narcotics executed a search warrant at Piedmont Apartment, in Hattiesburg, MS.  Metro recovered 5.5 ounces of Powder Cocaine, 1/4 cookie of Crack Cocaine, and bulk U.S. Currency inside the residence.  

Metro arrested James Edward Porter for PCS(Powder Cocaine) with Intent with 1500 ft of a church and PCS(Crack Cocaine) within 1500 ft of a church.  

The church is Word of Faith Christian Center at 2111 Country Club Rd.  Porter is a known gang member.  These was a lengthy investigation by Metro Narcotics that lead to Porter's arrest.

    An overnight auto burglary sting lead to four arrests and several stolen weapons and electronics in Hattiesburg.

    There were two Rite Aid stores in the Pine Belt at the start of 2018; one in Petal and one in Hattiesburg. Now, only the Petal location remains open, but it will soon close its doors for good, too.
