6A state champion Oak Grove was honored by MaxPreps today on the organizations ninth annual Tour of Champions.
The Warriors are the 25th ranked team out of more than 16,000 qualifying schools.
The team was presented with a trophy at a pep rally in the school's gym and they spoke about being recognized for bringing the community it's first football championship.
"I love that trophy. It was different," Oak Grove head coach Nevil Barr said.
"It represents something special. We're all honored. I'm just happy for the whole Oak Grove community and especially these kids and assistant coaches who put so much hard work into this."
Warriors senior Kirk McCarty echoed his coach's sentiments.
"When you get recognized by something like that, something that high out of 16,000 schools, already winning a state championship was worthwhile, but this just makes it that much sweeter."
MaxPreps uses the Freeman computer ranking system to determine it's list of champions.
