ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A former Albany Police Officer with a long history of crashes and dangerous chases could now cost the city hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The victims in a crash are asking for more than $150,000 to cover medical expenses after former Corporal Gary Price broad sided their truck while responding to a call on June 30th 2012.  The Ford F-150 pickup was flipped upside down.  The impact trapped the driver, ejected a one-year-old child, and seriously injured the other three passengers.

It was the ninth crash Price was involved in on the job between 1999 and2012.  Attorneys filed suit in the Dougherty Superior Court Friday

"We really feel disappointed, as our clients do that we had to get to this point, we had to actually file suit in this case," said Randy Turner, with Turner & Ross Attorneys at Law.  "It's a case, in our opinion, of clear liability against the city and we just feel like the city needs to step up and take this as seriously as it deserves to be taken."

Turner said his clients' injuries require ongoing medical treatment, and have affected their ability to work.  He said they also plan to seek pain and suffering compensation, and are prepared to go to trial.

Two people were killed and 11 injured in crashes that Price was involved in or that resulted from chases he was involved in.  He was fired from the police department in 2012.
