Two brothers in jail, one dead following fight in Marion County

COLUMBIA, MS (WDAM) - Two brothers are in jail and a third brother is dead following an alleged incident involving a knife in the Kokomo Community of Marion County Wednesday night.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a disturbance at this house at 788 Shiloh-Firetower Road around 8pm Wednesday.

Sheriff Hall says deputies are familiar with the address from responding to multiple calls over the years.

Once on scene, deputies there had been an altercation between the three brothers, Trent, Stanley, and Stacey Bedwell. Stacey had allegedly been severely stabbed in the chest with a knife and was lying in the front yard of the residence.

Stacey Bedwell was transported to Marion General Hospital and pronounced dead.  Deputies say Trent apparently had possession of the knife when they arrived.

Both Trent and Stanley were taken into custody at the scene. The brother's were charged earlier today.

Marion County Sheriff Berkley Hall, "It was all involved in a domestic dispute.  Under certain statutes they can be can be charged with it, both of them. Because they were both directly related to the incident. At this time, they are both going to be charged with manslaughter."

At the time of the interview no bond information was available. Both Stanley and Trent Bedwell reside in the Marion-Walthall Correctional Facility.
