(RNN) - Count two more people who think hockey and beer make the perfect combination - President Barack Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

The men's and women's Olympic hockey teams for the U.S. and Canada are playing each other Thursday and Friday, and the heads of states made beer bets for each contest.

The women are facing off in the gold medal match on Thursday, and the men will play in the semifinal on Friday.

Obama issued the challenge via the White House's official Twitter account Thursday morning. Just minutes later, Harper accepted the wager of a case of beer for each game.
