'They had no voices': Denny Abbott story on fighting the system

Denny Abbott was the voice for the mistreated children in the Alabama Court System and now he shares his story on how he fought to be their voice of reason.

Sharing his story at the Rosa Parks Museum provided by Troy University Montgomery, Abbott about his book titled "They had no voices, my fight for Alabama's forgotten Children", which explained Abbott's fight with the state institution against the mistreatment of children in the system.

After filing a lawsuit in 1969 against the state institution over the mistreatment of black children and winning the case, there were major changes and improvement condition for the children.

Jennie Duncan, Former Juvenile Detention Center Resident spoke about the times she endured in the Alabama Court System and expresses her gratitude for Abbott's fight.

"I could barely lay down. I couldn't eat because they wouldn't feed ya once they beat ya. They punish you, you don't eat either. It was horrible. It was horrible. Mr. Denny thank you, thank you."
